Providence of Thought documentation for a 14-hour digital painting session
This work began as a loose concept sketch exploring the idea of liminal space -- the threshold moment before a significant change. The process involved three distinct phases: concept exploration via traditional sketching, AI-assisted composition development through 47 prompts across two platforms, and final painting and refinement in digital painting software.
Initial concept sketching and reference gathering. The core image arrived quickly -- a figure at the edge of an impossible landscape.
Digital blocking of major compositional elements. Establishing the horizon line, figure placement, and light source direction.
Extended AI generation phase using Midjourney v6. 47 prompts tested. 12 selected for further development. Key breakthrough at prompt #31 when the atmospheric mist achieved the right emotional quality.
Combining AI-generated elements with hand-painted details. Extensive work on the figure, the light source, and the foreground environment.
Color grading, atmospheric effects, and final compositional decisions. Three major revisions to the sky before settling on the final warm amber tone.
Final output preparation, metadata documentation, and provenance record creation.
Echoes of a New Dawn was created by Krisada over 14 hours between May 10-11, 2026. The complete creative process -- including 6 screen recordings totaling 14 hours, 12 voice notes, 47 AI prompts, and 38 logged creative decisions -- is preserved as part of this artwork's permanent record. This documentation constitutes the Providence of Thought for this work.
